Can you run a membership site from an autoresponder?

Date July 14, 2009

Well, the truth is yes you can. Jimmy D Browns course Membinaire shows you how to set up a membership site in 48 hours or less.

Whilst this most certainly is a cheap way to set up a recurring income from the member site model, it’s not really running a membership site is it?

Well, yes it can be let’s look at this business model a little more indepth. The aim of a membership site is to gain subscribers to your membership. So do you really need a members area for them to log in to, basically no you don’t. You can deliver your membership content via an autoresponder.

How does it work? Simple really…….

1. You rent an autoresponder and load all your weekly, monthly content onto it.

2. You set up a subscription button with either paypal or clickbank to take the subscriber payments.

3. You add and delete members from your list as they subscribe or unsubscribe.

I will warn you this system is not as simple as it looks, because if you choose the wrong combination of autoresponder and payment processor system you can be in for a nightmare of a time when people pay you with one email address, subscribe to your list with another address and worse still, use their business to pay you and their real name to sign up…….. argh!

The two that do work well together for this kind of system are AWEBER and CLICKBANK
